SP Academy
Challenge
Our educational platform is hosted on the public AWS cloud and faced performance, speed, and security challenges due to the high demand of frequently connected users. To continue forming a permanent learning community, we drove the platform’s continued improvement project, intending to maintain AWS good practices.
Service lines
We used the AWS Well-Architected Framework Review of AWS to conduct an evaluation and diagnosis of the ‘SP Academy’ educational platform, and then developed an action plan to resolve the high-, medium-, and low-level risks to which the platform was exposed. The work plan was structured for the short, medium, and long term in order to achieve the architecture’s alignment with the resource sizing, availability, performance, and security best practices recommended by AWS and Moodle.
The educational platform is hosted entirely in the AWS cloud and achieves content distribution by safely integrating with Sophos Solutions’ local information systems.
Game changer outcomes
At Sophos Solutions, each one of our work teams is focused on offering high-quality solutions that allow our clients to continue evolving. Because of this, we want to share with you the main benefits achieved by aligning the educational platform with AWS good practices:
Increase in the level of solution fulfillment in cost efficiency, security, performance, and operating efficiency, which correspond to the pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Global consumption of educational content with optimized architectures for high performance, low latency, secure access, and efficient use of resources and costs. Delivery of an excellent user experience as a result of a scalable architecture that opens up the resource increase and decrease to support the variable demand from simultaneously connected collaborators.
